      One day, a monkey wanted to cross a river. He saw a crocodile in the river, so he asked the crocodile told the monkey to jump onto its back. Then, the crocodile swam down the river.
      Now the crocodile was very hungry. So, when it was in the middle of the river, it stopped and said to the monkey, “Monkey my father is verry sick. He must eat the heart of a monkey then he will be strong again”.
      The monkey thought for a while, then he told the crocodile to swim back to the river bank.
      “What for?” asked the crocodile.
      “because I didn’t bring my heart with me”, said the monkey. “I left it under the tree near some coconuts”.
      So, the crocodile turned around and swam back to the bank of the river. As soon as they reached the river bank, the monkey jumped off the crocodiles back and climbed up to the top of a tree.
      “Where is your heart?” asked the crocodile.
      “You are foolish” the monkey said to the crocodile. “Now I’am free and you have nothing”.
      The monkey told the crocodile not to try to trick him again. The crocodile swam away hungry.

The Miser and His Gold
       Once upon a time, there was a miser who used to hide his gold at the ground of a tree in his garden, but every week he used to go and dig it up and gloat over his gains.
       A robber, who had noticed this, went and dug up the gold and decamped with it. When the miser came to gloat over his treasures, he found nothing but the empty hole. He tore his hair and raised such an outcry that all the neighbors came around.
       He told them how he used to come and visit his gold. “Did you ever take any of it out?” asked one of them.
       “No” he said . “I only came to look at it.”
       “Then, come again and look at the hole,” said a neighbor,  “it will do just as much good”.

This text is for questions number 17 – 20
     Long, long time ago, an old woman. Mande Rubiah., lived at a village near Muara Padang beach. She had a son called Maling Kundang. The old woman loved her son very much.
     When Malin was fifteen years old, he worked as a porter at Muara. One day, a skipper asked him to work on his ship. Malin told his mother that he liked to accept the offer. Malin worked hard on the ship. The skipper liked him.
     One day, the skipper fell ill. He called Malin Kundang  and his daughter Nilam sari. The skipper said, “ You must become husband and wife. I give all my  wealth to you, Malin.” He died and Malin Kundang married Nilam Sari.
After his married, Malin became proud and greedy. He forgot everything.
Mean while, a beautiful ship came to Muara. The ship belonged to Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang got out of the ship proudly.
At the same time, Mande Rubiah was at Muara. When saw the ship, she was sure that the owner of the ship was her son. She shouted, “Malin! Malin! My son!”
She tried to embrace him, but Malin was angry.” Who are you, poot woman? You are dirty! Stay away from me!”
“I am your mother, Malin, your own mother,” said Mande Rubiah.
Malin knew that the woman was his mother, but he felt ashamed to confess it. He instead laughed. “Insane woman! Stay away! He asked his guard to chese her.
Mande Rubiah feel down.
Malin got on the ship turned to Gunung Padang, the old woman knelt down. She cried and prayed, “God, show him your power, my son is sinful.”
Then the storm hit, Malin’s ship and a lightening stinged him, making him burnt and turned him into a stone.
